India supports UN reform
The need to reform the United Nations (UN) and expand the number of members of the Security Council of the organization is supported in India, Foreign Minister Subramaniy Jaishankar said on September 4 during a video conference with the participation of the heads of foreign affairs of the BRICS countries. The Foreign Minister emphasized the need to reform the UN so that this organization reflects the modern world realities and moods of millions of people in the world, the press service of the Indian Foreign Ministry said. Jaishankar also noted the need to reform other international organizations, in particular, the World Trade Organization, the International Monetary Fund and the World Health Organization. Earlier, recall, US President Donald Trump spoke in favor of effective and expedient UN reform. His idea was supported in several countries, in particular, in China and Japan.
