The Pentagon said that the Russian Federation operates in Afghanistan through the Haqqani Network
The Afghan extremist group Haqqani Network is allegedly involved by Russia for the sake of participating in the situation in Afghanistan. It was declared on July 9 by the Chairman of the Committee of chiefs of headquarters of the Armed Forces (AF) of the USA general Mark Millie at hearings in committee on affairs of VS Houses of Representatives Kongressa SShA. According to him, the United States has known for years about Russia's involvement in the situation in Afghanistan. Moscow is acting in the interests of its national security, and this worries Washington. In Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and Iran, as well as Russia, operate. And they are doing this through the Taliban (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation), Haqqani and other groups, the general added. Note that the Hakkani Network group, based on nationalism and religious radicalism, acted against Soviet troops in Afghanistan in the 1980s. Later, she entered into an alliance with the Taliban (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) for the sake of fighting government forces and the NATO contingent.
